Using BSP Tree to generate random levels

Quick thing I wrote over the weekend. Previously I wrote a version inside Houdini that utilized stamping various shapes to see if they would fit inside a grid. Works great, but rather slow. This version is inspired by this tutorial, and uses the concept of a BSP tree to divide the space into smaller and smaller grids that will not overlap.

I've also tested this on mobile devices, however, it's excruciatingly slow. I need to figure out what's wrong. I wrote this as a recursive function, and there have been some blips on google about mobile platforms and small heap sizes, but nothing conclusive.

Can't say I would wanna watch it again, but it was rather inspirational. Is that the right word? Maybe hearty? But whatever, it was a reminder to keep on learning and creating! Thank you Brad!

Little Mouse Run

Work slowed down last weekend, and I took Sunday to write this short piece. This is my first full piece with Symphony Pro, and I generally enjoyed it very much! I am quite surprised, as I didn't expect it to work so well on a touch screen. The stock sounds also sounded great for an app this size. Supposedly Notion for Ipad works better, I'll have to try that when I get in the mood.

Sequencing was done in Logic X, VSL Solo Strings for a quartet. The mix was done with Vienna Suite and MIR Pro 24.

Friggin' had it with the Nexus 4 I've got. Many issues have been cropping up lately and it's pissing me off.

Dialing out to a number, I've experienced where I can't  hear the opposite party. Rebooting the phone, and it works.

Some times, when receiving phone calls, the swipe to answer the phone call just does not work! The only thing that works is the power switch, which serves to mute the ring tone.

Again, rebooting the phone works.

Sooooo blooody annoyed with this phone! That's it. Saving up for an Xperia or Iphone.
